Tapas, Hockey and Hotel.
This post will be partly in english, so those lovely chefs from San Chez can understand if they decide to stop by ;)
The plan for saturday was to go snowboarding for some intense hourse, get home and get cleaned up, go to dinner and then to a hockey game (griffins vs bulldogs). I was really excited to go to Canonsburg.. 'til me and Tanner actually hit the slopes. The snow was sticky, it snowed heavily and the lines were INSANE! To top it all off we ended up riding with a VERY ignorant man in the chair lift (he tried to convince me that Sweden was next to Hawaii...) so we didn't really stay for that long.
However, we did go out to eat, and after desparately trying to find a parking spot Lisa and Ramon dropped me and Tanner off at San Chez so we could grab seats. The place was packed. We ended up sitting at the bar right in front of the kitchen, watching the chefs in action. This turned out to be a great idea; not only were the chefs super nice, we also had the benefit of watching what they cooked and if something looked good we simply asked to have some! We ended up eating everything from fried balls of rice to beef tenderloin, with literally everything in between. And it was delicious. The cherry on top was the creme brulee and a chocolate/raspberry cake for dessert. Wonderful.
We left the restaurant to go to the hockey game, and take our really good seats Lisa had got us. The game was.. interesting. I have to say that Swedish hockey is probably a little more exciting, I mean, the entire stadion was pretty much quiet all the time except for when somebody scored or when there was a fight. And the fights were ridiculous too, they just circled eachother for a couple of minutes before they actually launched and the referees just stood watching. Weird. But between periods I'd say americans win.. what other country would shoot hot dogs out in the audience or play human hockey puck?
To top off our rockstar quality, we decided to make use of Ramons free hotel room he got with his plane ticket, so we spent the night at the Holiday In with plans of a nice continental breakfast in the morning, along with a swim in the pool. Of course, we overslept the alarm so we missed the pool and the continental breakfast cost extra. Still fun though :)
